ThuThuThuThursday

Thanks for the nice words for Rocky :) I'll tell him tonight, if he stops by.

I don't really have a particular topic to talk about today. My posting is just part of my road to bloggy fame recovery.

Actually, I just thought of something. I'm going to write seven completely random factoids about me. I'd appreciate it if anyone else who reads this would do the same, but I don't want to have to bother with all the tagging. So, here goes.

1. I take nail polish very, very seriously. It's a true art form to me. It's like decorating your temple.

2. One regret I have in my life is going by my middle name throughout school, instead of my first. People say they see me more as a [middle name], but it's probably because that's how they met me. I'm changing that up next year.

3. Sorry, I'm about to get religious: I believe that God has a list of lessons that everyone must learn for themselves, in order to have lived a full life. If one dies without receiving all of these lessons, then he or she will be reincarnated until said epiphany occurs. Once someone realizes them all, heaven happens :) Hell is being trapped in the reincarnation cycle due to avoiding enlighten on purpose. Can you imagine countless lives of loneliness and emptiness????

4. I also strongly believe in karma. If you steal a pen and lose your wallet on the same day, that is so NOT a coincidence.

5. As odd as this sounds, I take great comfort in chap stick. I'm picky when it comes to the brands I purchase, and it pains me when I run out or lose it. I'm not that superficial, I just really love chap stick.

6. I have this horrible fear of being put under or numbed during surgical procedures because, by some twisted trick of fate, I feel as if it will wear off in the middle of the surgery.

Last one, phew.

7. I absolutely love watching infomercials. I can watch the magic bullet for an hour straight, no joke there.

Finally, finished. I would love for you to do this exercise on your blog, too! It'll be a great "ice breaker", if you will.

Happy Thursday.

Happy Hump Day!

Yes, today is Wednesday. And yes, today is Hump Day. I like to acknowledge this known fact, and it seems to have become a tradition on my blog. I remember the last time I posted about HD(ha. not high definition, folks), and I didn't realize until I had almost published, that it wasn't Wednesday. How sad. Rachel is my witness to said shame.

Just in case some of you want to disappoint me by asking why I call it HD(again, not high definition), I'll answer this completely absurd question. The week is like a hill. Sunday is at the foot. Throughout Monday and Tuesday, the week is slowly climbing upwards until Wednesday, which is the peak(or hump) of the week(rhyme points). The week slowly descends from Thursday to Saturday. There you go. Don't ever ask me that question again.

But, I am in the middle of uploading photos as we speak. I will publish them in a later post today. I couldn't quite get it as focused as I wanted it to be, but now you have a general idea of what Rocky looks like.

I am slowly, but surely, making my comeback to bloggy fame. I'm up to two daily comments now. One day, I'll make it to five. And I'll tell the world of my success. But until then, leave your kind words because I always enjoy reading them! :)

Rocky Update

Okay so...

Rocky didn't get very far in our training today. He just sat and ate for ten minutes. I got pictures of him, which I'll download when i get the chance. But I have a good feeling about this.

And... I'm upping myself to 7 bloggy points for continuous blogging and two comments. Alriiight.

Here Kitty, Kitty

My breakfast consisted of two pieces of white bread sliced into six strips with melted creamy peanut butter alllllll over. And a cup of milk to top it off. Yum.

Thanks for the comments on my "Rocky" post; those made me happy. :) It's just the little things that make me smile. And the little things that make me frown :(

I have yet to see him this morning, but there's no doubt in my mind that he'll be stopping by around dinner time. Our backyard is full of creatures from bluejays to hummingbirds to crows to squirrels to bees to butterflies to ladybugs and the occasional cat. Our neighbor's cat every once in a while stakes out territory in our backyard. I love our random stray cats. They're all so people friendly. I have pictures of this one cute kitten that can by to play. In fact, I think I'll post them here. Let me know how high she rates on the cutie scale :)

P.S. I know there's a lot of pictures, but she was too cute for words. And you know what they say, pictures are worth a thousand words.

Rocky

Rocky is my new friend.
He lives in my backyard.
He is a brunette.
He stops by everyday.
He loves nuts and seeds.
He is scared by other birds.
Despite the fact that they're smaller than him.
He is also a squirrel.

We have a new addition to our family(not really, it just sounds nicer). I'm going to train him. Yes, I'm going to train a squirrel. You just watch. I'll try and take a few photos of him the next time he's out. I'll keep you posted on my new furry friend.

Success, Sort Of

If you'll reference the previous post, you will notice that I now have emoticans, see? :)

Unfortunately, they are not really that exciting. There are your average smilies, but no hearts or roses are anything of the sort. But 'tis okay, I am satisfied with even having any smilies to work with. Maybe it'll spice up my blog a bit. (yeah right)

The agenda for today is as follows :

Hang out at the house until about 3:00.
Go to the library for returning/checking out new books for an hour and a half.
At 5:00 pm, go to Maddie's house for the night.

And that's about it. Pretty uneventful until this evening, which should be fun :)

But, I am definitely capable of keeping up this blog. I'll just pretend that it is like a fish bowl. All of my posts are little fish that need to have their water changed and their food dispenses regularly. It will be like a virtual pet, if you will. I watched Finding Nemo yesterday(dotdotdot)

Nothing incredibly exciting happening at this exact moment, aside from the fact that it is once again ant season in the house. It feels like every season is ant season :( I must be a light sleeper or something, because I wake up whenever an ant is crawling on me. I woke up 4 maybe 5 in the morning and felt tickling on my hand. Sure enough, there was an ant there. But knowing me, I'd wake up for that but sleep through an earth quake. Earth quakes seem to avoid me.

I better save some talking for some other posts later today. But after 3:00 in the afternoon, don't expect any more publishing since I won't be at home!

Have a lovely Sunday everybody.

Nice Nice

I believe I'm doing a FANTASTIC job at keeping up with my multiple-posts-a-day routine, if I do say so myself. I award myself one bloggy point. CURRENT BLOGGY POINTS: 2

There is this Truth Box on facebook where you ask questions and people answer anonymously. I asked what people truly thought of me, and one of my BEST FRIENDS said the NICEST thing back. I started freak dancing around the room because of it! It made me really appreciate kind words and what others have to say. So, if she happens to be reading this, I hope she knows that she made me smile tonight :)

I'm not sure if I said this already, but I got four really nice Mead Five Star notebooks this afternoon. I've never used this brand of notebooks before. I'm really excited! A bit sad, isn't it(dotdotdot).

I'm not allowed to "..." anymore. THAT WAS AN EXPLANATION, A, NOT AN ACTUAL "..." FOR THE RECORD :)

Daily Updates

See? Like I promised, I'm turning over a new virtual leaf. This is my second blog post today!!

I just went out and bought a few school supplies, despite the fact that there is not list. Apparently we get it the first day of school. How pointless is that? I'm the type of person who wants to have a list in my hands when I go out. I need to know exactly what I'm doing, even if I end up curving the plans. I just need some concept to base the day off of.

Lunchtime has arrived. Frozen spaghetti is heating up in the microwave as I type. It is the only frozen food that I will eat. Wow, it's already done. I'll pick this post up after I finish lunch.

(dotdotdotwaitingdotdotdot)

Back. Well, that was a bit of a disappointment, but what can you expect when you're used to a certain brand and you suddenly switch?

By the way, I've decided to change Bloggy Stars to Bloggy Points. I can earn as many as possible, and points can also be negative. I'm going to start with 1 bloggy point.

A New Blogging Me

Okay, I know I've said this about ten thousand times in the past. I'm going to make that ten thousand and one.

To prevent losing this blog due to mental lack of concentration and summer fever, I'll start posting multiple times during the day. When I feel that I have matured enough to move onto just a steady flow of regular posts, I will give myself ONE BLOGGY STAR. I currently have zero.

You know what's pretty interesting though? I started this blog in sixth grade, and I have yet to stop. Beside my bloggy vacations I occasionally take. But I started one blog in sixth grade, which is different to the blog that I'm updating now. I'm sad that I deleted that first one, but I have my reasons.

So, expect to hear from me more often, not that you probably want to hear from me that often. And, due to lack of comments, I just might start commenting on my own posts, just so the number isn't 0 anymore.

CURRENT BLOGGY STARS : 0 <----- that's actually a zero. looks like an 'o' huh? As in letter 'o'

Headaches

The only point to headaches is to make us more grateful when we happen not to have one.

Anyone know any cure to some throbbin' up in the noggin'?

Random updates:

I have yet to go swimming or to the beach this entire summer. I've reached a new pathetic.
After listening to Jason Mraz's talking website, I got really excited because I remembered that I've seen him in concert with one of my best friends.
The school is sending me newsletters, which makes me very sad.
My tigger nails are chipping.
My braces are red now.
I have to get oral surgery(dotdotdot) again. And this time they're putting me to sleep. :( My orthodontist needs to go to Mars.
I got a blue scarf and a green scarf today in Solvang.
There is this amazing burger place that sells everything for a dollar. I had lunch there today. It was yummy.

My sentences are boring and poorly structured. I am tired. My head hurts.

This blog post sucked.

EDIT: I just went onto the unkymoods website, and I discovered they have a headachey mood. This amuses me and makes me feel almost happy. But not quite what you would normally categorize as "happy". I feel accurate, if that remotely makes any sense, which it doesn't, considering I just reread that sentence.

Up And Running

Drove back this morning from Vegas and arrive at about 1:30 this afternoon. It's very nice to be back! It was a ridiculously short trip, but it was last minute and just for the fun of leaving home for a few days.

Too tired to go on and on about Vegas. After all, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, not that anything like that happened...

Although someone did offer me a card for a nightclub. This would be more shocking to you if you knew me personally. :)

Highlight of my trip though: seeing Mystere by Cirque Du Soleil. BEST SHOW EVER. It was truly amazing. Hilarious, dramatic, entertaining, EVERYTHING. Saw it last night at Treasure Island hotel with third row seats(yay last minute discounts). I wouldn't have traded seeing the show for the world(although a puppy comes pretty close). We almost got tickets to Love and Terry Fator, but it was sold out. :( Oh, well. Cirque Du Soleil was actually on my Bucket List, so if nothing else, the trip was a success for me.

The Divebomb

It was 11:45 at night. I was cuddled up under my tie dye comforter while cradling a book under the lamp by my bedside. My evenings are often spent reading to relax my muscles before falling asleep and dreaming of a better world.

It was quiet outside my window, aside from the rhythmic chirping of grasshoppers that fell in step with my steady breathing. Glares from the lamp tinted the very corners of my glasses.

All was calm in the house.

When, without notice, a black projectile from above hurtles towards my face with a speed too fast for my relaxed reflexes to recognize. An uncomfortable crunch sounds as the object makes contact with my glasses. After a heartbeat of shock and disbelief, I'm on all fours like a tiger on the prowl. There before my eyes was a creature eager to explore every region of my pillow. It creeped. It crawled. It staked out future territory.

There before my eyes was a medium-sized black BEATLE(reference picture)!!!!! I didn't know what to do at first but be a spectator as the bug(who had quite literally divebombed me) scuttled over my palm tree pillow case. Eventually, I realized that it was not about to disappear on its own. Being too much of a lame-o myself, Mom came to the rescue with tissues.

I wanted to hear it's little body crunch. That's a high 9 on the disgusting scale, but I didn't care just then. After flushing it in the toilet the first time, it came back with a new wave of water. IT WOULDN'T DIE. Definitely not my first experience with the immortal bug, either. I've actually had quite a few with at least three of my friends now.

Not to fret, the bug was eliminated. Just how, I'll keep that to myself. :)

All in all, sleep didn't come until about an hour and a half later, despite the comfort that reading brings me.

I have officially been divebombed by a bug.

July 15

Okay, so July 15th is a pretty spectacular day.

It's the day following my friend's father's birthday, and the day before my mother's birthday.

But wait, there's more to this story.

I went to my Amy's house today just to hang out and have a jolly old time, which we did. And I fell in love today. He has eyes that open up his soul, gorgeous black locks, and an adorable tongue. And he also has four legs. If adorableosity was a crime, he'd have to be jailed :) I love Amy's house <3

Anyways, the two of us created a youtube account a while back in dedication to a person we aren't too fond of. I'll keep the name of the account anonymous. We(well, Amy) randomly remembered it and decided to see if we could still log in. After retrieving the password because we forgot it the first time and made an even better password which we are bound to forget(wow, what a run on sentence....and it's not even done yet), we logged on and looked at all of our profile information. It was interesting to see how our opinions have changed, though, Jason Mraz was(of course) on the artist's panel. And somehow Taylor Swift? When was that? Uhh.. that was just weird. Moving on...

When we checked to see when we had made the account, it said created on July 15, 2008!!!!!!

For those of you who stared at the date trying to figure out what's so special about it, it's been EXACTLY ONE YEAR since we had created it!!!! Which means, EXACTLY ONE YEAR AGO I was at her house!!!!!! ISN'T THAT WEIRD?!!?!?!?

Of all the days...

Maybe I'm the only one who finds that so amazing. Maybe not...

So, from now on, that's our day. I think that's so cool.

P.S. VISIT DENISE'S BLOG ON THE SIDEBAR AND LEAVE COMMENTS ASKING HER NOT TO LEAVE THE BLOGOSPHERE, FOR SHE WILL BE MISSED!!!!! PLEASE!!

Have a delightful rest of hump day....

Sour Cream: Yum...Mayo : Not So Much

Food is absolutely delicious. Some enjoy food more than others, which, of course, is to be expected. But I believe that behind every person, is a food that they could eat plain that others would find disgusting. Or a food that they never get tired of.

For instance, my father adds salt to everything, which greatly repulses me in certain cases.
Same with my friend, SS. I even have a video of her with several(no exaggeration there) packets of salt on fries. They were more white than yellow. But whatever butters her toast, I guess.

Both my mother and I eat rice everyday with just about everything. But that's also to be expected.

However, one thing I can dip a spoon into and lick happily is sour cream. A dollop of daisy goes with all foods, in my opinion. Baked potatoes topping the charts, no doubt.

On the otherside, a food that I feel should be wiped from the face of the planet is mayo. Truly and wholeheartedly, it thoroughly grosses me out. I never eat mayo. Not on sandwiches and not with anything else, if I can help it. Sometimes I ignore it in tuna sandwiches(SUBWAYSUBWAY), but in any other situation, I'd rather dump it in a trench.

My used-to-be childhood friend once had a mayo sandwich when I visited her house. Just a slice of bread, a thick layer of mayo, and another slice of bread. I nearly threw up watching it. Even if you don't detest mayo, don't you find this the slightest bit icky?

Ah, The Memories

I was looking through all of my old elementary school papers, and I found this poem I wrote when I was itty bitty. After reading it, I probably wouldn't change a thing.

IF I WERE IN CHARGE OF THE WORLD

If I were in charge of the world
I'd cancel weapons, being ill, big knives, and also broken bones.

If I were in charge of the world
There would be shortner nights, safer monkeys, and no drugs whatsoever.

If I were in charge of the world
You wouldn't have war.
You wouldn't have world hunger.
You wouldn't have global warming.
Or "Get off the phone and take out the trash!"
You wouldn't even have trash to take out!

If I were in charge of the world
A big chunk of chocolate would be good for you.
All the floors in school would be made of ice to skate on.
And a person who hated reports and hated history
Would still be allowed to be
In charge of the world.

I just miss the old days. Rememeber when all we thought about was world peace and stupid being a really bad word?

Quick shoutout to RGC, who is leaving for Florida tomorrow!!! CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOU WHEN YOU GET BACK!!!

Quick shoutout #2 to AMS, who is in Seattle, unless she got back already. CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOU WHEN I SEE YA!

Oh Most Definitely

I have come to the conclusion...

That I most definitely should have been born

List Of Songs I Love To Pieces:

Unchained Melody (Righteous Brothers)
A Teenager In Love(Dion & the Belmonts)
ALL of Michael Jackson songs
Sherry(The Four Seasons)
Lollipop(The Chordettes..have you seen the new Dell commerical with this song? GENIUS)
ALL OF ABBA(I LOVE MAMMA MIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BEST MOVIE...EVER... even though they're late 70's. I listen to the movie soundtrack as I fall asleep...every night...since I got it...)
My Girl(The Temptations)
The Way You Do The Things You Do(The Temptations)
On Broadway(The Drifters)
Under The Boardwalk(The Drifters)
Anything Grease(as in the movie... <3)

And many more. But it's late. Perhaps I'll continue this when I stop mourning Michael Jackson. I never understood how amazing his music was until he was gone. It's because all I remember are the allegations and the accusations and now... gone. :( You know what's weird? My favorite singer's initials(Jason Mraz) are the opposite of his.

I was meant to be a 50s and 60s girl. With about of 70s mixed in there. Oh, most definitely.

Yeah, I'm sure all my friends are probably thinking about how much of I freak I can be, but I realized that I appreciate this music much more than I appreciate the lame attempts at music that rap "artists" come up with. And yeah, my friends probably learned a lot about me just by reading this. I'm not saying all the music these days is horrible. After all, Jason Mraz exists. Where would I be without him? Thanks to AMS for introducing me to him, I'm EVER GRATEFUL she enlightened me with his god music. I admit there are plenty of other delightful things in the world(Wicked and JM and others)
