braces

okay. i am in pain. and a lot of it.
braces this morning. expanders top and bottom.
i am hungry.
but nothing will go down.
this morning i had to have soft food because of spacers.
i am currently trying to have noodle soup, but the noodles keep getting caught in the top expanders, and then they fall to the bottom expanders and get tangled in there.
my tongue is pretty much confined to the center of my mouth and cannot really move around.

but the soup part is nice.

and many people have recommended Advil.
but hey, pain is nothing but a physical expression of extreme discomfort.
which i am trying to overcome.
I CAN DO THIS WITHOUT THE HELP OF TYLENOL AND ADVIL!

a while ago, my friend told me that getting braces was like having your mouth die while still attached to it.
i didn't believe her.
yeah, i was wrong.

but who am i to complain?

in other news...

There is a good thing about braces. Well, actually there are two. One is- you get used to it and the pain sort of ends after a while. And two- it makes your teeth better. So, it is kind of beneficial and it's worth the pain.
It is annoying sometimes, like everything in the world, but you really get used to it.

After my first w'end of soft foods, it dawned upon me, hey I'm not the only one who has sat on the ortho's chair recently. Last Friday to be precise, I too got my spacers removed and braces put on. Noodles are soft right? *sigh* I ended up in the same tangled mess as you! Perhaps it's an art that we have yet to master!

After I gave birth I told the nurse that I did not want any pain killer, because I wanted to tough it out. She said that being in pain is NOT good for your body (I do not remember EXACTLY what she said...it was 5 years ago)...take the pain killers. You'll be fine!
