TOMORROW IS AB'S BIRTHDAY!!! A.B. IS A VERY CLOSE FRIEND OF MINE, AND I MIGHT NOT HAVE ENOUGH TIME TO POST TOMORROW, OR MAYBE I WILL, SO... I'M POSTING NOW!!! WOOHOOO!!

I have a little story to tell. About a little bird. A little, white bird.

At first he was shy.

I didn't want to pressure him, so I let him take his time.

When he was ready, he came out to play. Check out those feet!
After a while, he got comfortable and started to pose!

He felt so happy that he started talking to a friend nearby who had just come back from paradise

Together, they met two new friends.

All four of them watched the clouds for the rest of the afternoon.

Then, they walked into the sunset.

A Non Rant

Unfortunately, i do not have oodles and doodles and noodles of time to rant about nothing like i normally do. But, i am trying to keep a schedule here by posting at least every other day. Even if i post one word, feel free to say hi or comment or rant about your own lives. but then again, that is the point of a blog. oh, well. I'm ranting again.

Time Flies

Today is February 16, 2009. As you probably know...

But, exactly two years ago, on this day, my father had a heart attack and had to be rushed to the hospital. He had a stint put in that day and stayed in the intensive care unit for a few days. of course, I was sad then, but I'm just glad that things are back to normal, two years later. Isn't it weird how time just flies like that? I remember the days when I was itty bitty and my idea of art was drawing stick figures. Hmm.... Kind of odd, don't you think? I know this post probably doesn't make much sense, so you don't have to really comment on my blubber here. Just say hi or aloha or hola or whatever you wish to say. I think I'll go now, for I have bored myself already. Time to go to do something else. Happy Monday. :)

1. I am trying to get better at running, because at the moment, I am less than superb.

2. When I am bored, I'll find myself scratching at my head. Really hard.. It's weird... yeah.

4. When I am trying to write a good essay, I try to envision the words dancing around and singing on the page.

5. When I pick out a book at the store, I have to feel several different copies of the same thing and hold them up to my ears to see which one "talks to me".

6. When I eat goldfish, I still make them swim in the air before I eat them.

7. I am only capable of eating Cheerios four at a time(long story)

8. At the grocery store, sometimes I'll pretend I'm a celebrity and all the items on the shelves are the paparazzi. So, I'll start posing and smiling to cans of soup.

Love Is In The Air....

It only comes once a year. Why not give up one day out of the three hundred and sixty-five(forget that leap year rule, which still utterly confuses me...) to be mushy and gushy and in love with the world?! Why not!? Hug everyone around! Call all of your friends and wish them a Happy Valentine's Day! Don't you like getting phone calls when you aren't expecting them? It doesn't have to be a call a century long!

Just say, "Hello! I am just calling to wish you a very happy Valentine's Day! I hope you have a good one!"

Remember Me?

I am so sorry everyone! Really, I am! I know that it seems like I have fallen off the face of the earth and glued myself to a barnacle! But this is not the case! I am back! And I will try to post on a regular basis! I hope I have not upset anyone with my frequent absenses! Not that I expect you to visit my humble bloggy abode every waking moment of your life. Though it would be nice. Actually, no it wouldn't. Maybe once a day, or so. Or really, whenever you have the chance. But I digress...It will probably take time to get my readers back, but that is okay. I deserve the struggle.

Anyways, here is a brief recap of my life since you last heard of it. All is well. The year has made a delightful turn for the better. I am no longer in a pit of despair, not that I ever really was. Well, I kind of was. Just for a little bit. I'm all better now. Don't you worry about me. :)

I have not seen any good movies recently. Nor have I read any mind blowing books. Of course, I reread Twilight. Speaking of Twilight, the sequel to the movie, New Moon, is in the makes(is this phrase used correctly?). If you are a rabid fan like myself, I would suggest you bookmark my favorite fansite http://www.hisgoldeneyes.com/ . Daily updates and awesome news on anything Twilight worldwide.

Not exactly. At this very moment, it is raining rainbows and ponies. I hate strongly dislike it. I am staying cozy with about seven layers including a sleeping bag in bed. Starbucks signature hot chocolate. Staring absent-mindly at the flickering flames of the furnace. Snuggling with pillows and whatnot. This is my life during the winter. In case I haven't reminded you lately, or you just forgot, but I strongly dislike hate the cold weather.

There you have it. My so called "brief" recap.

Sometimes, I go through these phases where blogging just doesn't appeal to me. I think I'm going through one of those now. I just wanted to warn everyone in the blogosphere in case they thought that I had fled to Madagascar or something. Anyways, thank you for your time! Enjoy the rest of your day! :D

Hmmm....

Death is a strange concept. Your mind just shuts off. Your body goes limp. But your soul doesn't die, right? It lives on, right? I believe that there is a message that one must learn from life. Everyone must stumble across it somehow or another. It could take years to find it. One day, you just wake up with some epiphany. Some realization about life. My theory is that everyone is reincarnated over and over again until they find that special message that brought them to life in the first place. Butterfly for fifteen days, then a blade of grass for two, and then a human for 85 years.The possibilities are endless! And only when you meet the moment that keeps you going for eternities will your destiny be decided. Maybe everyone goes to heaven. There is no fiery place down there. Perhaps everyone goes through the burning flames of agony as a challenge of their endurance and strength, and they make it to heaven only after they have proved their worth. Really, I have no idea what I'm talking about. I'm kind of just going on and on and on and on without a single direct thought running through my mind. I simply had to get this off my chest. What do you think happens after death? There has to be more that just dirt and dust.

What A Day...

Yes, I am back. But only because I feel that I have abandoned my blog for far too long. Things have not necessarily gotten better. When I woke up earlier than I intended to, I had to get blood drawn at some lab place. They said it wouldn't hurt. Yeah. Right. Now I have this pink band around my arm to keep the pressure there. Then we went out to breakfast where things got better. I was starving, and I ended up eating to much and feeling dizzy to the point where one more bite would have caused a major upchuck. I asked for water, which they kindly gave to me in a to-go cup. I was so thirsty in the car, but I had to buckle my seat. We were at a stoplight to I set the drink between my knees, holding it securely. Of course, the car took off right when I let my knees unbuckle because I was just about to grab my cup, so my water overflowed onto my pretty dress that I hardly ever wear. Ugh. When I got home, I put my half-empty cup of water on the counter, next to my bag. Then, my bag illustrated the art of magic voodoo(as in, I have no clue how this happened) and then fell off the counter, bringing my cup of water with it. Down went everything, including the water and the contents of my bag onto the tiled floor. Ugh ugh ugh. I was about to get mentally violent with that cup of water. Of course, it happened when I was standing next to it, so my dress got soaked again, after it had finally dried off from the first time. I set the almost empty cup on the kitchen counter(not the one I set it on earlier) and wiped off all my damp belongings. When I checked on my cup on the counter, it must have had some invisible hole because it was leaking all over. I tossed it away, and wiped the counter off with a look of death carved into my face. I haven't smiled all day. Then, I headed to the mall, where things were supposed to get better. After getting out of the car and walked about ten seconds across the street, a tickle swept across my right leg. OF COURSE.... there was a HUGE black scary bug beetle looking thing hiking up my skin. It looked kind of like this: I rapidly shook it off and watched it dive into the concrete and blend in. I had had it at that point. I broke down. Right there in the parking lot. I didn't care. But I was fed up with fate. Everything is against me... I swear....

And ever since last night, I have had a KILLER toothache. It has its own pulse!!!!!!!! I even choked down a pill to get rid of the seething pain, and yet, it never kicked in. And, did you notice the random space in this post? Yeah, the window closed because my finger must have "slipped" or something. Thank goodness for the autosave or else I probably would have tossed this laptop out the window and watch it burn with some bizarre amusement.

I still have so much to do this weekend. Essay revising. Not fun. The only good thing to come would be one of my best friend's birthday get together tomorrow. AMS, YOU ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I HOPE YOU READ THIS PART! YOU CAN SKIP THE REST TO AVOID DEPRESSION!

Some say that since things are so down, there is no where else but up. Like that Shania Twain song. But, whatever. Things have been way down for quite a while now. Over two weeks, and they don't appear to be getting better. When was the last time I wrote so much?

Learn To Appreciate

Warning: The following image is heart breaking. At least it was to me. So.. if you are in a good mood and you don't want to ruin it, you should probably leave. Now. But I am teaching a little lesson here today through the animal kingdom.

The mother has lost most of her ducklings down the sewer. Sad, isn't it?

My little lesson was that whenever you think that things are just down in the dumps for you, think of those who probably have it worse. Stop feeling sorry for yourself. When you ask for courage, you are not simply given it. You are given a situation where you must find courage to overcome it. Stop thinking so hard.

Twenty-four hours from now, it will be 2009! I can hardly believe how fast the year came and left! I remember when it was just the beginning of 2008 and I kept thinking it was 2007! Ha! That happens every year, though.

Home Sweet Home

On December 21, 2007, my family moved into our very first house. I was not able to post yesterday, so I am making up for it today. We have lived in our home for 363 days(counting today)!!! Yay!

Time really flies by, right?

This time last year, literally right down to the exact date, I was feeling sick. Once again, the common cold has come to visit me. I'm not completely sick, though. My throat hurts, and a cough escapes every once in a while. Don't worry, though! I am working on staying healthy! I absolutely must! Christmas is so soon, and I am going ice skating with friends next week!!! Who wants to be sick during winter break?

Crochet

Today we went over to my aunt's house. She had her birthday recently, and well, of course, Christmas is coming up soon! Yay! Hoorah! Yip Yip Yippie!!!!

She taught me how to crochet!!

How cool is that?

So on the way home, I had already finished crocheting a bracelet. My aunt had given me two hats and a boa to match for the holidays. I love being able to make my own accessories and to accessorize with what I have made! I will soon get pictures up of my latest creations.

Complaints?

I guess I shouldn't complain. As said by Delaney in the previous post, some places are SNOWING! Wowzies! Can't even imagine how cold it would be then! Probably to the point that you couldn't feel anything at all, so the cold wouldn't even matter!

I have family in the Philippines.

My cousin was in a supermarket, store, whatever, when a bomb went off across the street. They are not holding the annual Christmas masses that are very special and should have started on the 16th. Who are we to complain that it is a little cold? Some have already died...

Winter

It certainly feels like winter! Even though it is not official, yet! But, as you may or may not know, I HATE the cold weather. Really. I do. I've been to Alaska during the summer and I just about went mad. But I love my family there, so they made it fun for me. :)

The weather where I am is freezing! Maybe not to some of you, but to me. It is raining, icy cold, and the wind is stinging my cheeks! It is so cold it feels like you are slowly burning to death! It is horrible! I am probably exaggerating here, but I simply cannot stand this. I have on six layers right now and three pairs of socks and a scarf and a hat and my hood on. I sleep with two pairs of pants on!

Anyone else as cold as I am?

I guess that it really is starting to feel like Christmas.

Such A Stick Of Scrumptious Selery

I am aware that I spelled celery wrong in the title. I thought it would be a bit off to spell it with a 'c' and then have the rest of them with s's!

Anyways, something odd happened to me this evening.

I made myself some hot chocolate. The weather is really getting me down. I HATE the cold, and it has officially arrived. Back to my hot chocolate. I used creamy milk with milk chocolate mix, mini marshmallows, one HUGE marshmallow, chocolate shavings, chocolate syrup, and oreo crumbles. Pretty much diabetes in a mug*. I sat down at the dining table and dipped my mega spoon into the hot chocolate. I tasted the chocolate, and I was extremely surprised when it tasted strangely like celery! Honestly! It tasted strongly like celery! I don't know! Am I getting sick or something? Anyone else heard of something like that, so I'm not too concerned?

It was completely unexpected! Like that time my leg vibrated! But that is a different story....

Oh yeah, we got a live Christmas today. It has an utterly wonderful and fresh fragrance!


*please don't be offended by this diabetes remark. I'm just trying to pull the point across that it was a huge mug of unhealthy palooza.

Tickets! Yay! Go tickets! They are our lovely road to those fabulous seats in that marvelous theater that will present to us a fantastic musical! KNOWN AS WICKED!!!

This week is not a fabulous one for me. Nothing terribly tragic(besides cause : sit- ups and effect : ab pains), but nothing popping out like KA-BOOM at school.

The only thing keeping me alive is Mr. Cullen. My Edward. Ohhhh......

The concert yesterday was AWESOME!!!!

The soreness of my mouth has definitely improved. I have only taken one advil!!! woo!!

although, still, i had to take one.
even though i tried not to.

apparently i am bad with pain.

my throat feels like it has swollen up tremendously after trying to force down solid food.

how can eating become so difficult?

i whine too much.

really, i do.

i probably shouldn't.

so i'll stop.

happy sunday, i guess.

braces

okay. i am in pain. and a lot of it.
braces this morning. expanders top and bottom.
i am hungry.
but nothing will go down.
this morning i had to have soft food because of spacers.
i am currently trying to have noodle soup, but the noodles keep getting caught in the top expanders, and then they fall to the bottom expanders and get tangled in there.
my tongue is pretty much confined to the center of my mouth and cannot really move around.

but the soup part is nice.

and many people have recommended Advil.
but hey, pain is nothing but a physical expression of extreme discomfort.
which i am trying to overcome.
I CAN DO THIS WITHOUT THE HELP OF TYLENOL AND ADVIL!

a while ago, my friend told me that getting braces was like having your mouth die while still attached to it.
i didn't believe her.
yeah, i was wrong.

but who am i to complain?

if only i could rewind and rewind and (surprise surprise) REWIND AGAIN!

nothing new

nothing is really new in my life.
except for bad luck.
besides braces:

i lost my favorite pen after misplacing the one before that. i lost my locker key two days in a row about a week ago. i found an awesome green pen and then lost it the same day. i went to bed thursday and found a pincher bug on BREAKING DAWN(!) and then felt tickling on my arm as another bug crawled on me while i was laying in bed. that friday morning, i woke up because a bloody nose came for no apparent reason. i was aggravatingly close to seeing wicked, before having the chance snatched away from me. i have to go to two hours of a play rehearsal twice a week(that i hate) when i could be completing the never ending mountain of homework.

life has been so unfair.
this better mean that something fan-flapjack-tastic is going to happen to me sometime soon.
like winning the lottery.
or wicked tickets falling from the sky.

here is an interesting fact to top it all off:

Mosquito repellents don't repel. They hide you. The spray blocks the mosquito's sensors so they don't know you're there.

braces update

i would have been getting braces tomorrow.

but...

the orthodontist found that two teeth on the top switched places and the roots are crossed.
what the heck?!

sounds painful to think two roots are crossing, but i don't feel a thing.

not i have to wait.

and guess when i'm getting them!?

in pain.
but jason mraz is capable of healing my mouthy pains and sores... :)

but still....

of all the days..

and it can't be rescheduled.

and if the braces don't fix my teeth(the two switched ones), then i might(possibly, probably won't) need surgical procedures. fabulous, right?

and when my mother asked what could have caused the "abnormal" switching, the orthodontist said, " God made it that way."

how am i supposed to respond to that?

A Great Loss

After church this evening, we went to visit my half-sister. Her mother-in-law(let's call her Barbara...) had serious health problems for the past few months. Just this week, she fell into a coma. And today at 3:00 she finally passed away.

She had cancer.

She was a smoker.

What a shame.

My sister and her family were in grief. The hospital bed that they had in Barbara's little room was moved into the garage. It was terrible seeing it just sitting there as we walked up the driveway to ring the doorbell.

I find myself normally very good at keeping my self cool, calm, and collected, but I admit - it was rather hard this time. I used that technique that almost everyone does - blinking of the eyes, searching for pictures in the grooves of the ceiling, and thinking "oh, my, what a pretty fake plant".

What made me want to break down, was their pitbull puppy. This puppy was very close to Barbara, and when I looked into the eyes of this puppy, I could see how he must have understand everything. He could sense something was out of place. It was heartbreaking. The eyes were so deep and seemed to go on forever!

This incredible woman made an effort to keep going on forever. She pushed until her last breath. Four days in a coma. She was apparently in tremendous pain.

Prayers well appreciated.

braces update

i got spacers(separators) in my mouth today. They are a shade of pretty blue. Like turquoise, maybe? How am I supposed to know? They are in my mouth?

Anyways, the pain has yet to come. I have been told several time from multiple sources that the feeling the next day is not so lovely.

My first experience of UFO's in my mouth. Ms. Orthodonist was correct; these small things of elastic do feel quite like pieces of meat in my mouth.

Friday is one last appointment to get me prepped for actual appliances.

Someday next week I will be getting them on.

I know this is rather an odd question, but anyone have any suggestions for colors I should get? I'm not sure if I should go for Halloween themed or not.

In general braces news, I am trying to think of the positives. i.e. colors.
